Advanced Infant Feeding Coach™ Pathway - Terms & Conditions - latest update 12/12/25

Terms and Conditions: Course Duration, Assessment, Extensions and Deferrals

1. Course duration and structure

1.1 The standard course duration for the Advanced Infant Feeding Coach™ Pathway is twelve (12) months from the date of enrolment.

1.2 The course is structured in two phases:

a) Core Infant Feeding Coach™ Training (first sixteen (16) weeks)
This core phase includes structured teaching, learning activities, and required assessments with set deadlines.

b) Advanced Pathway and Applied Practice Phase (remainder of the twelve (12) month period)
This phase allows time for completion of additional assessments, applied learning, case studies and final sign-off.

1.3 Students are required to complete all elements of the Core Infant Feeding Coach™ Training within the initial sixteen (16) week core phase in line with the published deadlines.

1.4 Failure to meet the required deadlines during the Core Infant Feeding Coach™ Training phase may result in delayed progression, additional requirements, or the need to repeat elements of the core training, at the discretion of The Infant Feeding Academy.

1.5 The student is responsible for managing their time and workload to ensure all course requirements are completed within the full twelve (12) month course duration.

2. Assessment, marking and resubmission

2.1 All assessments and case studies submitted within the twelve-month course period will be marked and feedback provided.

2.2 Where submitted work does not meet the required standard, the student is permitted one (1) resubmission only, provided it falls within their active course period.

2.3 It is the student’s responsibility to submit work with sufficient time remaining to allow for marking and any permitted resubmission before the course end date.

2.4 Assessments forming part of the Core Infant Feeding Coach™ Training must be submitted in line with the published deadlines. Extensions or resubmissions for core phase assessments are not guaranteed and may be subject to additional conditions or fees where applicable.

3. Required standard

3.1 All work submitted must meet the required standard for safe, independent professional practice.

3.2 Completion of the course timeframe, or approval of an extension or deferral, does not guarantee a pass.

3.3 If the required standard is not met after reasonable support and the permitted resubmission opportunity, the student may fail the course.

4. Extensions beyond the course end date

4.1 Any time required beyond the initial twelve (12) month course duration falls outside the original course agreement and may be treated as a paid extension.

4.2 Extensions are not automatic and are subject to approval by The Infant Feeding Academy.

4.3 Current extension options are:

  • One (1) month extension – £175
  • Three (3) month extension – £450
  • Six (6) month extension – £750

4.4 Extension fees must be paid in full before the extension period begins.

4.5 Each approved extension includes:

  • Continued access to course materials for the duration of the extension
  • Access to monthly small-group mentoring sessions (attendance required)
  • Permission to submit or resubmit outstanding assessments
  • Marking and feedback during the extension period
  • Final assessment and sign-off review once all requirements are met

4.6 The one-month extension is intended as a short, focused completion period and is normally limited to one use per student.

4.7 Total extension time will not normally exceed six (6) months beyond the original course end date.

5. Deferrals for exceptional circumstances

5.1 In cases of serious illness, bereavement or other significant exceptional circumstances, a one-time deferral may be granted at the sole discretion of The Infant Feeding Academy.

5.2 A deferral pauses the student’s course for an agreed period.

5.3 A deferral does not restart or extend the total course duration. On return, the student will have access only to the remaining time available at the point the deferral was granted.

5.4 Everyday work pressures, parenting responsibilities or general life demands do not qualify as exceptional circumstances.

5.5 Evidence may be requested to support a deferral application.

6. Re-enrolment

6.1 If the student does not complete the course requirements within the twelve-month period plus any approved extension, or does not meet the required standard, re-enrolment may be required to continue.

6.2 Re-enrolment is treated as a new course place at a reduced fee, with inclusions defined at the time of re-enrolment.

6.3 Re-enrolment access will be granted for a period equivalent to the original course duration.
