Module Two

Upon completion of this module, you will have been introduced to the grading and assessment tools that are currently in circulation for the assessment of tongue-tie.  You will understand which tools are most commonly in use in the UK and which are most applicable for supporting the breastfeeding dyad.  You will be able to describe how an assessment for tongue function is carried out, with an in-depth appreciation for the need for skilled assessment.   By the end of this module, you will have a thorough understanding of why a simple visual oral assessment is not appropriate for a baby who is struggling with feeding.
